About Us

The Thulani Program is a subactivity of German Shepherd Rescue of Northern California (GSRNC) that focuses on helping German Shepherds with limited life expectancy, typically measured in months or possibly as much as a year.  Although independently run, this program is fully integrated with the much broader activities of GSRNC.

The Thulani Program has evolved during the past 2.5 years (Our History) during which time we have helped 28 terminally ill dogs.  We started by servicing animal shelters primarily in the greater San Francisco Bay region, but our responsibilities have recently expanded to include all of California and Nevada (Our Area).  This expansion has been driven primarily by the widespread need for the types of services the Thulani Program provides, and by the general lack of other organizations able to provide these services.
